I then proceeded to add some detail. I used a 0000 size brush and put down brush strokes in various directions to give the impression of blades of grass.

I used various shades of greens layering them over each other to create more depth.

As i went along I decided to make the grass quite dark so when I had completed it I could add highlights.

This is how the picture looks at the moment. As I work up I reduce the size of the brush strokes as the grass recedes.

The next picture is of the grass completed with the method I have just described. As I got nearer the tree line I made he grass slightly lighter.

I then added the highlights I mentioned I wanted to do before. I mixed a light green and put plenty on my brush and as before lay down strokes in various directions to give the impression of grass.

As before I reduced the size of the strokes as I worked my way up.
