As a child I always felt I knew what the animals’ were saying and how they felt. I am sure my parents thought I was a bit nutty. At the age of thirteen my parents gave me my own dog, an Aussie mix. It was this dog, my new best friend that would touch my heart and teach me the most important lesson in life, unconditional love. At 18, I had the privilege of meeting Beatrice Lydecker, a professional animal communicator. She gave me her book and told me that everyone has the ability to communicate with animals, but very few even try. I tried and tried. No luck. I think I have read every book out there on the subject. I was thinking I had lost what I once had as a child.
As time went on I focused more on training dogs. My many clients over the years have told me that their dog just knew what I wanted from them, ”They just seem to understand you, as you do them.” I have been given the nickname, Dog Listener.
In 2004 a good friend told me about Carol Gurney, a professional animal communicator who lives near by. I took an animal communication workshop from Carol. She said that it could just be a feeling in your heart that you feel. That was it! I was amazed how easy it was for me to connect with animals. I connected with dogs, living and passed at the workshop. The owners validated my communications. I feel that I still have much to learn on the matter. Every communication is a learning experience for me, and will be for years to come.
This is how it works for me. I clear my mind, I let no thoughts in, I look at the picture of the animal I am communicating with, say the name, who they live with and where they live. Then I ask if it is okay if I talk with them. I usually get an excited feeling in my heart and to me that means YES. Sometimes I fell nothing so I try at a later time.
As of now I have a dog training business in Ventura Calif. called, Positive Dog Training by Stacey. I also teach weekly obedience classes. I love my job! I love to help people and animals connect.
This is where I start and continue my journey to becoming an animal communicator. I have talked to many dogs, cats, guinea pigs, rats, birds and horses. I have learned so much from the animals’ point of view. And have confirmed what I learned at the age of thirteen. Animals are here to teach all of us humans about unconditional love.

We are still amazed at how you read our girls. I have to tell you...Ever since you read Gretchen (the black and tan longhair), she has gotten nicer with people (although, I realize she will never be a social butterfly). We had paid for a dog behaviorist and after all that money and time, she was no better. Another thing that has changed is Gretchen's behavior at field trials. She usually will follow the rabbit's scent line for a little bit and then just take off for the wild blue yonder. We have to run all over the field to catch her. She's been to 1 field trial (this weekend) since you read her and she ran a total of 4 times. All 4 times, she came back to me and the last time she even did a perfect "heel."

The dogs are great Stacey. I can't thank you enough. The feedback from Stacey has been so helpful because I learned the reasons for certain behaviors. For example: My dog Kotsy won't leave his house and yard because of the treatment he got when his first family abandoned him. Now I reassure him every day that he will stay with me forever. He has responded by calming down and he is more at ease. Stacey mentions certain facts of life that occur in my home that she could not have known or guessed at. She actually described the smell of the sardines that I include daily in my dogs diet. My older diabetic dog Ozzie got the new softer bed he asked for and he loves it. Thanks again Stacey, anytime they want to check in with you let me know.

Dear Stacy,
You should know it is likely as a result of your work with Tazo that he has changed his attitude quite significantly in the last few weeks, and is working hard on staying in his own yard when people drive or walk by on the dirt road above us on the hill. You may remember I asked you to tell Tazo the “trade” for his good behavior would be more time playing with his friend the dog in the house in front of us. We have allowed much more time for this as a result of being able to trust him more and of course the better weather and longer days have made all this much more fun for everyone. So, a really positive result.
I really appreciate having the chance to work with you and talk with you. Thanks for everything.
